我们生活在一个充斥着推特、热点评论和突发新闻提醒的世界里，这些信息在一段时间内主导着我们的思想，在一两天内主导着我们的新闻周期。 这种分散的媒体环境只会增加叙事的力量。 叙事穿透了主体的心，也穿透了观众的心。 一点点新闻或信息很少能改变我们对世界的看法或我们在其中的位置。 叙事性非小说类作品很少不能做到这一点。
